Future of the Internet....
I watched three videos by Vint Cerf, Tim Berners-Lee, and Kevin Kelly respectively. They were talking about their different views on the future of the internet. I am going to compare and contrast some of those ideas here.
Vint Cerf has brought up the topic of a smart grid. This is related to sensor networks and how the information received can be used. He also thinks that interplanetary communication is of great importance.
Tim Berners-Lee dealt with more the graphical face of the internet and webpages. His idea is of linked data. If you can imagine it, then it can be linked.
Kevin Kelly went over how the internet is just one big machine which we are viewing bits and pieces of from our devices. He theorizes that within 30 years, the internet will be 6 billion times larger than it currently is.
One of the important things that they all believe is that the internet is growing larger everyday. They all come from different backgrounds with Vint being more on the networking side, Tim more on the web side and Kevin from a tech journalist approach. While they agree on the idea of internet growth, they differ in ideas of where that growth will occur. They also agree that linked data will be a important aspect of the future internet.
Vint Cerf believes that there will be a growth in sensor networks like smart houses. Tim Berners-Lee thinks that the growth will be on the web in the form of linked data. Kevin Kelly has come up with the idea of "The Internet of Things". He believes that we are closer to artificial intelligence and we will see close representations of AI within the next 5000 days.

Nice summary of the Future Internet videos. As they are about 3-4 years old, we are already seeing some of their vision coming to pass.
